370DECEMBER 27 Tues 1910
Winter but frosty & nice.
Trudy spent most of the day at The
East High at Teacher's con-vention & I
lunched with Bess & Mary
at Sibley's. Trudy walked down & I walked back to
E.H. with her to find
Jessie Hines & see her to Mrs. Green-
Smith. Visited & played flinch"
tonight.
Wed 1911 L. gave up & when dressing Chan. & didn't come out. It was rough.
Both Henry & Chan
were sick. H. about & hour &
Chan mostly all day. Little
Eugenia too. I had them all in a row in Str. Chairs
& the nice steward helped. I was sick a little myself about noon - Missed
dinner only because Henry went to sleep
in my lap. It was terribly rough in the night. Didn't sleep hardly any.
had a nice visit with Ruth W. & her friend before
going to bed. Nice crowd.
Fri 1912
A storm today too (see last
year!) Disagreeable sleet, wind and snow. Shopped for a miff this noon.
Ray Hanna came in for a long "confession" and some
advice about "Anne". Lunched at
Cafeteria. Read & washed my hair tonight.
Finished my Xmas letters.
Sat 1913
The papers announce this a.m.
that Kate Davis is to be Commissioner
of Charities in N.Y. at a salary of "7500!" (Mayor [illegible])
Lunched with Bess & Mary and then
Mary
& I went all thro' the Station and to the
"Gordon" to moving pictures & then I came home
to beans and rise.
Sun 1914
Cold & wintry. Busy all
a.m. & till dinner at 3. Wrote 11 notes (finished)
Claude came just after dinner to tell
us he & Jim are to dissolve. We are all
de- lighted & specially that Jim
suggested it. He's going in with Stern! I went over to call on the
Davis's. Kate had just made a speech at the YWCA. Was very nice. Walked over to Lura's & met Irene
& Florence who said E.A.S. was here. Didn't stay long at
L's & when I got back Edith
J. came over for an hour or so. She 'phoned E.A.S. while here.
