72MARCH 12 Sat 1910 Mary's birthday (& Mate Willard's & Mil
Steele's Mother
says) a lovely sunny day. At noon I had a telephone message Lura sent by Alice
Brad- shaw that Lilian
died at 12:30 - The dear girl!
Edith's Uncle
Mort died today too. She has been home a couple of days as the
Vacuum oil
people are moving to R. Sav Bk. Their two funerals &
Breck Perkins will be Monday. Claude
stopped in tonight. I went to Mrs. Shortt's &
Papa read.
Sun 1911
It thundered in the night and
rained this a.m. and a good deal of the day. We staid home for a
change (
Pinto
was at dinner at
CFB's) cleared up my bureau and wrote.
This afternoon the 3 Tappans
made a long call. The cats loved
Jessie
.
Tues 1912
A sleety dark dreary day. I
invited Mary, Lura & Chat to lunch (Nellie
went to Boston yesterday) and after- ward we went down
to Sibley's "Opening" - & had a
real nice time. Was awfully tired tonight. Am sleeping in the den (for a
change) this week!
Wed 1913 Lovely. Forgetmenots to Mary.
Mother lunched with me & we
shopped. She brought me a little from Lydia
. Tonight sewed, wrote & had a bath & read. The
stores are beautiful - lots of flowers & pretty clothes.
Thurs 1914.
Gave Mary a rose & a postal card "Happy
Birthday - Cheer up. What do you care with your good looks." Lunched at
Sibley'sdined at the
White Kitchen. After some "Movies" as
Ruth K. was having & dinner party (MotherMiss Stubbs, Mrs. Bunnell, Miss
Colberg &
Miss Muir) They were still here when I got home & I
helped put away dishes &c. later.
