12JANUARY 12 Wed 1910 Lovely day - warmer. Met Mother at noon (linen shopping) & she had dessert with me at Sibley's. Everything booming at the office since the patent decision & the St. L. people asking for a license. Went with Mary M. tonight to see Geo. Arliss in "September". A most finished and perfect production and also a dear sweet character. Enjoyed every minute. A fire at Brewster - Crittendens delayed the cars coming home. Thurs 11 Real busy today - a "nice" busy. Got our "General Conditions" back for correction & sent them to Collin. Home to lunch & Hippo tonight. Mother to praise service. Tonight played solitaire & flinch& read a little. Bath & bed earlish (?) It's cold again but no snow - only ice. It's such a comfort to be with Claude! Fri 1912 Awfully cold. Lunched down town. Tonight Gurdon called for me in the "Packard 6" & we went to the station for Alice - waited an hour - mostly in the chilly train shed! He came to supper (we went in style!) and spent some of the evening. Alicein great spirits about California trip! Sun 1913 It looked awfully stormy but was not very cold, so Mother went up to Claude's with me. We had a nice time before the fire & brought the boys
back with us till nearly 5. Tonight nice Miss Endles
- the new Mechanics girl at Farmers - came over & sat in front of our fire till 9:30.
Mon 1914 Regular blizzard today. Had a nice lunch with Bess & Mary & a nice talk with CFB. Was busy of course - working on Carrington list &c. Ruth
out tonight. My pretty new brown dress came. We had a nice fire in the grate & all sat around.
