Mother spent the after- noon
waiting at the station for Miss Garfield.
Who arrived early & spent the afternoon on the piazza waiting for
Mother! We had a nice supper - a
grate fire and ice cream from Mrs.
Caring's. Sewed &c. Mr. Hanna
is back - astonished that I'm going! Henry
sick but better tonight.
Tues 1911

the locks a good deal. The Islands before sunset - beautiful. Got
acquainted with Rev. & Mrs.
Dicker (daughter of Bishop Dwen of
Quebec) & 4 with children. They know
Mrs. Hartley - wife
& dau son, a lovely sunset - & sat on
deck late (cool too) Kingston
about 10. Walked up- town. Saw moving picture show & got
cantelope, candy, peanuts, popcorn &c. Had a spread in the stream at
midnight. The Van Ingens, Pratt & us.
Thurs 1912
Bad hay fever
(!) today! We had a grate fire tonight - it was so cold & went to
bed early. Felt really very miserable.
Fri. 1913 Mr. Stern has bad hay fever

the day. Just took me (& Mother) to
the Station & I had a nice ride. (Pullman) to
Carter. Got acquainted with 10 yr. old Dean
