Sun Apr 10 1910 Henry seemed much experienced with the bridges he saw on his trip to N.Y. Also the tall buildings. The men at the hotel! (I think the crowds) and of course the "en-gines" & cars. "We took the early train". & the "colored man" &c. They got toys-cars & "engines" at Swartz's & Letitia & Kath bought H. 5 pretty suits - white, blue & white, brown & white & two crash
suits. Chan has a new blue coat and hat. He talked a good deal & recognized "Gran ma" and "Gran'pa" in all the pictures. He weighs 34 and Henry 39 lbs.
Apr. 9 1911 I was showing the boy the Oliver Herford animals today & Henry was very much pleased with the elephant giving away his tusk - the whale holding an umbrella, the Yak being barbered &c. He saw in the jokes. Chan asked me what that was. I told him a "Crocodile". He looked at it long and earnestly another remarked "we have a sun-dial!" When Mrs. Tappan skipped him passing Nabisco's the other day (in Obedience to Letitia's work!) he remarked "I guess you've made a mistake!" July 12 1912 (see this date) - well M.B.
asked me to come to her house privately & balance J.G's books! This is roaringly funny in view of what Alice said about Margaret
's being an expert book-keeper "of course" (the idea being that naturally that part of the work she (wd do 100 % better than I) She has been working 2 weeks (more that that!) & is [illegible] $200 on the first six months & I don't know how much after! I don't want .G. to know it! oh me. oh my!!

Miss Sarah Carpenter, an ancient, good hearted milliner of Oswego. Mr. Jarey (brief) "Jerry" Foster - a collage boy in love, Mr. & Mrs Arthur Dellow (in the back camp) &c. &c.
