85MARCH 25 Fri. 1910
Cooler & lovely. Still
sat with my window open all day. Tried to take Mother
flowers this noon (Cloudy). Hippodrome to- night
& then late supper & Marguerite was
over. awhile. Then Fatherread
Mark Twain on the Bacon-Shakespeare
& we sat amid flowers till bath & bed time. Father not at all well since Tuesday. I go
for cream mornings.
Sat. 1911 Claude came in this morning looking fagged,
after a hard week out says he's OK. We worked hard - a.m. & p.m. on
spec. Fine day. Mary
, Alice & I went to
the garage. Rather a black day. Alice Gurdon
& I lunched together in Sibley's
grill &
James joined us. We were awfully jolly.
Tonight Claude dined here &
Jim came up. Gurdon was fun bubbling over with good spirits.
Alice told me later that Wiltsie is suing her!
Tues. 1913
Rain, rain! Flood in
the west &c &c. A gloomy day - working hard. To tired at night - bed earlyMinette
's tonight & the Mechanics
supper and then to the Lyceum
"Milestones".
Wed. 1914
Went to dinner very late
(Bohachek
working at the Station) Clarence has a
stunning new "Balmacaan" coat. Read aloud tonight & later finished
Galsworthy's "The Dark Flower" (in bed) Think I'll
read "Pain".
