85MARCH 25 Fri. 1910 Cooler & lovely. Still sat with my window open all day. Tried to take Mother flowers this noon (Cloudy). Hippodrome to- night & then late supper & Marguerite was over. awhile. Then Fatherread Mark Twain on the Bacon-Shakespeare & we sat amid flowers till bath & bed time. Father not at all well since Tuesday. I go for cream mornings. Sat. 1911 Claude came in this morning looking fagged, after a hard week out says he's OK. We worked hard - a.m. & p.m. on spec. Fine day. Mary
wanted me to go for a walk. Bess to "The Chocolate Soldier" & I wanted to go with Mother & Letitia & the children to "The House that Jack Built." Tonight I loafed & read new "Everybody's. Lunched with Lura at Sibley's this noon. Crowded. Everyone is out this lovely day!
Mon. 1912 Ruth
, Alice & I went to the garage. Rather a black day. Alice Gurdon & I lunched together in Sibley's grill & James joined us. We were awfully jolly. Tonight Claude dined here & Jim came up. Gurdon was fun bubbling over with good spirits. Alice told me later that Wiltsie is suing her!
Tues. 1913 Rain, rain! Flood in the west &c &c. A gloomy day - working hard. To tired at night - bed early Minette
's tonight & the Mechanics supper and then to the Lyceum "Milestones".
Wed. 1914 Went to dinner very late (Bohachek working at the Station) Clarence has a stunning new "Balmacaan" coat. Read aloud tonight & later finished Galsworthy's "The Dark Flower" (in bed) Think I'll read "Pain".
