313OCTOBER 31 Mon 1910 Lovely day. Mother took Harriette
to Cro'nest this morning & then. He came down to Sibley's & lunched with me & made some calls. We had supper at 5 as she had to take the 6:30 train on her - ticket. Gurdon came & took her to the station. He seemed quite tired - but enthusiastic about his "job". Frieda had a Halloween party. Mother & I played "flinch".
Tues 1911 A gray & yellow fog and rain. Very dark at times. Very beautiful toward night. Lunched with Lura & went to hippodrome. Sherby
was in & later CFB & I went down & looked at Miss Stowell's Jap. prints &c. Then CFB went to Mrs. Sibley's party and Miss S. came up & looked at Sherby
's drawings which she thinks are wonderful. Tonight Mother & I read aloud and sewed till eleven or 10. Pouring rain tonight.
Thurs 1912 Got breakfast - & this noon lunched at the Cafeteria. Mother had Mrs. Fallis's to clean. This p.m. went to Meadowwood with Jim & Mr. Stern. Fine!! We ate candy &c. Tonight went to Marguerite to call on Florence Wheeler of Hammond port. Fri 1913. Cold but nice. Ate hastily at McCurdy's. Went up for to children's party at Mrs. Ramsdells with Claude, Jim & Helen & just cooked in ghost & Don
in one of the twinnie's dresses. Walked down home. A lovely sunset. Worked played flinch & read my old journals!
Sat 1914 Another wonderful day! At 3:30 C Upton came with Auto & Miss Pringle & took Mother & me for a ride. They left me at Short Hills where I found Florence & Irene, Miss Van Dyck. Vernon FitzSimons & 7 hounds & 2 cats! (besides other things). A golden sunset - a delicious long good dinner. A "cuddle coo" with I. & F. in a nice corner- [illegible] lights of 5 mile walk home with Irene & the wonderful moonlight. A black dog. An owl - a halloween frolic &c. Florence went by car.
