61MARCH 1 Tues 1910
Soggy day. Mother came down this noon & we had a
nice lunch at Sibley's (cream pie) &
she got a $10.00 switch at Mrs. Fahey's - (Mrs.
Logan's successor) We saw Claude's new office - nearly done, & Mary's. About 5 Mr Parry and
I went down to the new Handicraft shop - Y0122. & saw
lovely jewelry, silver, baskets, frames, fabrics &c. Tonight we played
flinch & I read some. Henry
is learning "when Johnny comes marching home".
Wed 1911
Came home at 5. Met Edith
& she told me the Vacuum Oil People were going to sent
her to N.Y. for 3 weeks, Mar. 12. Went over to
Meta's and had quite a visit
before supper. She's getting along finely.
Fri 1912
Certainly the worst day in the
calendar for me. Sherby
was in & feeling awfully and interrupting the 1st of the
month. Specifications &c. I felt - well I won't go into
my feelings - but by night I was a wreck and &
guess C. was too poor thing & could
have cried myself to sleep.
Sat 1913
Dark & snowy. Jim has the
mumps! This noon lunched with Lura
& then sat with Marguerite &
Emily
True awhile. Went to "The Ghost Breaker" at the Lyceum (upstairs) good - sat next to
Isabel Stewart & a friend who told me how
Miss Durney went to Sibley's on the chance of seeing "her darling Miss Bragdon!" worked all evening on specs.
Sun 1914
Not cold this a.m. A lazy day
for me. Up late & home all day. Mother went to church & to Atkinson
St. to dinner (with the Nichol's
"girls") I had my lunch about 4 o'clock pm.
Henry & Chan came about two & spent the afternoon. They are dears!
I lay down & Mother read to me in
the late pm. & then wrote letters. About 9 o'clock
Addie (Frieda)
phoned up & we found she was awfully sick with headache.
Ruth
took care of her & finally got her to bed and I staid up
downstairs for Frieda &
Leslie
till 12:35.
