142MAY 21 Sat. 1910 Very muggy morning. Never hotter in my life! Better in p.m. (Changed my waist twice at noon!) Tonight took Lura & her Mother to a nice supper at Sibley's and later we went to hear Jessie Bonestells in "A Woman's way" much better than last week. Postal from Bess & Mary who went from Albany to Phila Thursday with Mr. Stratton & his sister (5:30 am to 9pm & 3 hours rest!) Bridgeman had a "raise" in his salary & treated to Chocolates # mem. Sun. 1911 Had a fine bath before this 6 this morning & then rested till eight! Had breakfast & then walked over to the Jas. Wadsworth place (all but Myra) Took Mary Cap Percy & "Janet" in the path. & Zoe came later. Found a lovely cool spot over looking the valley & read & loafed Back to dinner lots of Auto parties. Mr. Mc [illegible] talled a while walked over to see the Kennels (alone) later & got acquainted with the "whipper in (E. Harrison) who need to work for "The Duke of Portland" &c. Stopped at Zoe's in the way to the Station & at ashantel
a long time going home. found a lovely letter from Charlotte Steele &c.
Tues. 1912 A busy, rainy circus day. Got mixed up in the parade this noon. The Circus was in a sea of mud at Exposition Park. Went to Miss Bridgeman's & dined with Lura. Alice phoned me & Mother called on her this p.m. Wed. 1913 Rained some (hard tonight) & was Cloudy. I felt very [illegible] Jim & Helen picked out the willow chain I gave them and Mother & I are invited to wedding & the breakfast! Claude offered to send me up the lakes with the children in August! Lydia
gave me a lovely book (& vote) tonight I did accounts &c. I don't Know when Ive feel so used up. Hemeny & Chan were down awhile this pm but I was must too busy to enjoy them!
Thurs. 1914 Very warm. Lunched with Bess & Mary & talked Portage. Mother & the company went to hear Mrs. Montgomery (just back from around the world) at the Baptist Claude I sewed &c. Tired!
