179JUNE 27 Mon 1910 Very muggy day. Home at noon. Went to the 5:30 p.m.
train for Trudy but she didn't come
till seven. We almost ran over a little Italian girl on Clinton
St.
The fenders & the motor man saved her. Put up strings for vines
under Father'sdirection.
The Bride's trunk went - out the back way.
Spent the (short) evening on the piazza with
Trudy & Mother. It rained tonight & was cooler.
Tues 1911
Awfully hot but a little
breeze in the window most of the day. Lunched with Bess&
Mary at Sibley's (a long lunch) & then
shopped. Busy all day long. Had supper at the Rowes
tonight with Ruth Brettle & then sat on the
steps & talked & later she came over here & admired our flat
&c. Very hot & rain early us we.
Thurs 1912
Another nice day, but
warmer, especially toward night. Mother
& I went to Charella's rental at
the
old Baptist Church. Very good but very long.
Didn't get home till after 11. Sleeping & living in the Den
permanently from today
Mr. Rowe has been very sick several days. Lunched with
Marguerite at Sibley's at noon.
Fri 1913.
A very hot day indeed and
this evening really awful! Mate Willard
came from Brooklyn on the Empire and we ate &
visited tonight. (I washed the dishes after a long telephone
conversation with Florence Mc Laughlin.)
Mate begins to seem old - some way.
Sat 1914
Rainy p.m. & turned cool
but and a nice time. Mary Belle &
I went down to the new YWCA
house & she read to me & Bess
came to supper & we had a fire in the fire place &c. &c.
(Found out "Miss Sawyer's name!") Sleepy.
