329NOVEMBER 16 Wed 1910 C.F.B. went to N.Y. tonight to Harry's wedding. I lunched down town (with Dorothy Carson) and Mother went to dancing school with the Boys. They came in - busy - cleaned refrigerator(!) &c. tonight. Thurs 1911 Came home to lunch today - not so busy, C had a beautiful letter from Walter H. They certainly had a happy time here. He says they starred him & electric lighted him as they promised, in Chicago. Gossiped with Stern tonight. He hears Elbert Newton is engaged to a wealthy western girl! Tonight Mother & I sewed and read aloud. Quite cold. Sat 1912 Not over-busy this p.m. Roy
still in Phila. (after N.Y. & Boston - his first trip!) Came home to dinner. Lydia
got it - "Chow". Cut curtains, read & sewed this p.m. & evening. We finished "Mother Carey's Chickens." "Eugenie's" birthday
Sun 1913 Gray day. Slept late. Made pudding. Went with Miss Ruth Kingsley to Seneca Park (a little) to the Conservatory & thro' the new path to Cro'nest. Found Claude sick a bed with a cold. Had a chicken dinner at home. Henry came down alone & spent the p.m. We put together the little houses & Felix got in them! Finished my "Manas lists later & wrote and read. Chilly outside. Eugenie's birthday - 43 I think. Mon 1914 mem Eugenie's birthday and Alice Lorene Wolfe born (at 1:30 p.m.) Lunched with Florence who jollied me about having all the attention from E.A.S. on Saturday. Jim wasn't down HMS back (from being sick) Met Irene & Florence a little while tonight (in the Jap. Store) To N.Y. at 9:45 with C.E.U. - ! Only the taxi broke down so it was 11:08 we started!
