113APRIL 22 Fri 1910
A beautiful day. Staid down to
Seel's at lunch - Mrs.
Andrews was here & came up in the p.m. Delighted with the
house & with Rochester & all. Tonight she & I went to see Louis Mann in
"The Man who stood still" - at the Lyceum - & then for ice cream. I slept
in the den for the first time - & fine!
Sat 1911
Another horrid rainy day.
Lunched with Lura at Sibley'sand worked this p.m. James
came in late saying little David Bacon was
awfully sick - pneumonia & whooping cough.
(Claude gave a dinner to
Bacon
by the Lyceum Co.) tonight - I sewed &c.
Mon 1912
Thunder storm this morning
early & a hard one - 1/2 in of rain this p.m. -
but Henry went between them. After
lunch
Herbert Stern took me out to the
Slemin
House with Jim in the auto (electric)
we were caught in the rain just as we got back & went to bed early -
very sleepy - Our newly papered dining room is very pretty.
Tues 1913 Lydia
& Coralyn came up to- night & we went
to the Gordon to see "Pilgrims Progress".
I didn't seem to be in the mood for it. Had a nice - late - supper
&c.
Wed 1914
Rode home with Jim & Helen in a cold, clear mind. Claude is "gardening" everyday. We settled Mother's newly- papered room tonight & I
wrote &c.
Ruth K. running a banquet somewhere. This noon I lunched
with Bess & Mary
at Sibley's. Victor
Vanderbilt called today!
