3JANUARY 3 Mon. 1910.
Good winter weather. It
snows again. Got a postal from Lilian
written at the hospital. She seems really some better. But Lura says today that Mrs. D. is to have a nurse! It seems absurd. Home to lunch
oysters, chicken &c. J.G.C.
listened while I tele- phoned! (not the first time either) A regular
blizzard tonight. Claude off for
N.Y. again.
Father not so well today & didn't sleep
last night.
Miss Chillingsworth - the cat lady - is dead (see Dec. 7 or 8
1909)
Tues. 1911.
Back at the office, but
felt pretty shaky - very busy - sent some
Beautiful Necessities
to England. It stormed quite hard. Figured
most of the evening on office time cards &c. Late to bed gain.
Wed. 1912
Managed to go to the office
today & of course was very busy. Zeigler is there -
Frank
on his vacation &
Stern
sick. Braslow came in. Lunched with Lura at Sibley's & had a chat with Mr. Parry
& Mr. Bratt. Staid & developed 3 rolls of film.
Tonight fixed a (front) bedroom for Miss Daley's friend
& sewed on buttons &c. Didn't write letters,
as I should.
Fri. 1913
Pouring rain - the worst kind
- but Trudy
came down before it got bad & in lunched at the Duffy cafeteria with Klem. Saw Bess &
Mary too. Tonight the storm had turned to
snow & was fearful. I got stalled on Exchange
St. & had to walk home. No cars ran & the street
lights were all out. We sat around a cosy fire & "enjoyed" it. Played
flinch
a little & visited (were to go to Lura's!) CFB
to N.Y. Sat. 1914
Snow today - but not so cold.
Busy (of course) till 2 p.m. Then ate some chocolate and went to the
Lyceum to see Geo. Cohan
in "Broadway Jones" - a funny thing - shopped and came home
to a big supper & sewed all
the the evening. Ruth Duroecame back. Felt better than Yesterday but still very
tired. Jo comes tomorrow,
Eugenie & French "Marie
" were in this a.m.
