21JANUARY 21 Fri. 1910 Pouring rain today & fog in late p.m. (very beautiful.) The river high & the deep snow disappearing - Home to lunch - Marguerite over tonight and then Father read the new Everybody
while Mother & I sewed. Later letters & Accounts &c. The St. L. people are to appeal.
Sat. 1911 Dark & slippery - growing colder. Mother got a letter from Aunt Melissa - bolster- ed up in bed to write. Claude is going there Monday. This p.m. shopped with Mother, had brown suit tried on & went out to Limericks
& walked in - fine & frosty - Gurdon came in tonight & made us a nice breezy call. Trouble with tooth &c. feel rather "rocky".
Sun 1912 A nice talk with Claude this p.m. by the fire. The children were very cross (tired out with yesterday's coasting) & went to bed - Mother & I came home about four & about 5 my Mrs. Gus Wolf & her "Gus" came & stayed an hour by the fire. I do like them. Worked on books in the evening & laid awake with Neuralgia most of the night! (as last year!!) Tues. 1913. Lovely clear day - & cold. Had a nice chat with Mrs. Ramsdell in the office. Tonight Frieda invited Lydia
& me down & we spent the evening in front of the fire listening to a lovely "Victoria" concert. Then ginger beer and bed! Eyes ache!!
Wed 1914 It turned cold in the night & the fog blew away Glare ice when & I came down in the 'bus at 7:30 (!) this a.m. Mother met me at the Roch. Station at 9:25 & I went up with her & unpacked. Then to the office. Lunch with Bess & Mary and at 4 all of us (& Mother, Eugenie & Helen
) went to the Art Gallery to hear Claude's lecture on "Architectural Masks & Faces of N.Y." - really fine! Then Mother & I rode to the new Station
(opened Sunday) & had a nice visit with Miss Kjallberg
(who enthused even more than others have) & finally to the tracks & then to supper in the new dining room! When we got home chatted with the Ruths.
