76MARCH 16 Wed 1910 Cad Chapin Goler's 41st birthday. I called her up this morning & later she invited me up to lunch. It was very nice & cozy in her pretty little Joslyn Park flat. We gossiped & ate with cooking - schooly things from a tray. Mother went to Chapter. & called on Mrs. Tappan too. I went to the Hippodrome tonight & was late home & very tired - Papa read &c. Then I finished "The Lighted Lamp" - not as good as "Jno Percyfield" - but good Thurs 1911 Regular blizzard today. Staid down to lunch with Bob & Mary and they came to the office afterward to see Tappan about their house. Mother out tonight. I read &c. Sat 1912 Was so busy I worked most of the p.m. (Jim, Claude & I) I think - Mr. Stern is very nice in the office. It was very icy & slushy & bad walking. I went to Cro'nest(with Mother) for dinner & the Children were so charming around the fire afterwards just lovely both of them. Claude went to N.Y. at 9:45. Henry Calls [illegible]
"sparrowt"
Sun 1913. Blizzardy again. Fixed up rooms & linseed - oiled the mantel bricks this a.m. To Claude's to dinner. The children had been to the office with him. Read "Robinson Crusoe" to Henry. He's wild about it. When I got home wrote to Trudy & then read. In the evening I'm going to have a grate fire Mon 1914 Melty today. I got Mrs. Humphrey Ward's "Coryston Family" and read it tonight in bed. Cad's birthday. Not very busy finished Perrigo's specifications
