A lovely day. Came home at
one. Had a nice letter fromTrudy
wanting to come - and Motherwrote her
to. Dear Father de- cided to have the
operation Wednesday or Thurs. & this p.m. I went with Dr.
Jewett to the hospital to see the rooms. Met Miss
Heal, the superintend- ent. Later went with Lura, Matie
& the Macs to have dinner at the
Ontario. Home about 10 (Reba on car.)
Sun 1911
It turned out to be quite hot
today - but Cloudy & rained hard early in the p.m. Was home all day
(Mr. Kingsley was visiting Claude) Read "members of the Family"
by
Owen Wister - fine. & loafed. Tonight
Mr & Mrs. Tappan
called (Mrs. T. goes east on Wed.) and later Claude came in (used up)
Tues 1912 Ruth Behn Weller born this morning (down stairs) about
8:30. Fine little baby weighing 6lbs or less. A lovely day too. Hung pictures
&c. tonight & read "The Life of the Bee." Saw
Miss Irwin of the "Herald" about "a week in the
Muskokas" a prize I got in a competition (4th) for writing a story about a
vacation (Quebec) "Aunt
Marion" came today. She sails for Europe July
6th.
Wed 1913 Meta Eleanor Williams born! A nice
day. Finished up at noon and took Minette Enders to
Sibley'sto lunch. She seemed to
enjoy it much. Then she took me to Lyceum to see "The Butterfly on the wheel"
(Miss Meredithlovely!) and then we shopped & "batted" &
planned her trip to Placid via
Montreal. (Sat night) & she gave me a lovely
pottery vase she made.
Thurs 1914.
A little cooler. Lunched
with Bess &
Mary & tonight went with them &
Myra
& Capt. to
Maplewood Park to a picnic supper of 1/2 a band
concert. I was very tired but slept well - came up in the car with
Letitia. (going to
Stulls
on Monday on my recommend)
