to breakfast. It looked a little dubious but Nana & the boys & I started at 8:20 for
Niagara Falls. The other side of
Batavia it began to pour. At
Buffalo
we were late & had a wait to L.
'phoned Mrs. Sprague & she & Mr.
S.
came in the Auto & took us out to the house & we had
dinner & staid till she brought us back at 3:20. The house & garden
are simply a dream & everything beautiful -
wonderful - early Italian - a little fairy niece - Frances
- danced for us. She is eleven and so lovely Tues. 1912
Walked down with Marguerite. It was showery. Lunched at [illegible]
(N.Y.) Mrs. Russak here. She tells
C he was a Buddhist in
Benares - a priest in
Rome (dying at 40) and is much
interested in
Hemeny - who likes her. He & Chan began school today. I was busy.
Mrs. Fox
read to us tonight. I finished the Towels for
Bess & Mary & did them up at 10:30.
Wed 1913
Cloudy & foggy but didn't
rain. I stayed at the office till 2:30 & then went home to lunch
& to dress. Clarence
came for us in the Auto & we went to Frank & Zoe'swedding at 5. Kate was there & all the rest. It was very nice. Francey made a lovely flower girl. The
four - leaf-clovers waited on table & got hilarious
afterward. Helen & Jim came for us and
Then took Lura & Mrs. B. home after they all stopped to see
"Felix" Went to Art. Gallery this a.m. Thurs. 1914
Fine. Lunched with
Bess & Mary
Tonight Florence, Irene Winans & Kitty
Fichtner came up & we had such a nice time before the fire.
They all kissed me goodnight &c. &c.

came and tonight she & Mother dined with me at Sibley's & then she and I went to the
"Temple" (saw "Odiva") When we got
home Helen
& I sat up & talked till 2:30! She told me all about
