306OCTOBER 24 Mon 1910 Lovely day CFB home from Wyoming where he left the babies & Letitia. Henry loves the Aeolian
& Mr. Robinson (of Louisville) has taken a fancy to him. Went to hear Witherspoon sing ([illegible] course) at the convention Hall
tonight with Mar- guerite & John & Amelie brought us home in the Auto. It began to rain. I lunched with Bess & Mary at Sibley's.
Tues 1911 Nice day, cool. Lunched with Bess at Sibleys, very busy - helped check station stone bill. Walked down with Marguerite this a.m. Told me about Ray Hanna jilting Cora Swartz. Went to Hippodrome tonight, late supper & read "Country House" by Jno Galsworthy Mary
lent me.
Thus 1912 Poured all day - very dreary. CFB in N.Y. I worked hard at home all the morning. Then went to Claude's with Mother in Hammon's carriage. Lunched with the children & left her happy - there with St. Nicholas and 2 little boys. Evening with Lydia
& reading in bed.
Fri 1913 Dark day - Busy. Lunched late with Florence (my treat!) at Sibley's. Had a nice visit. Tonight staid down to supper & went to "The whip" at the Shubert (Stern's recommendation) very exciting. Felt so sick I came out & was sick most of the night at home - awful pains. Sat 1914 Not so pleasant, cold & cloudy. Irene came in & said sweet things to me this a.m. Was going for an auto ride with Miss Upton but she sent me a ticket to Jno. Drew ("The Prodigal Husband") & I went in state in a $1.50 seat! Then to her house to a tete-a-tete dinner & till after Eleven. She is going into mourning & gave me a lovely coat, 2 waists & a kimono - going to give me a suit (!) Also bottle of imported creme-de-menthe
