265SEPTEMBER 13 Tues 1910
A cold raining day. Breakfast
about 8. I was home all day (except I went over to telephone to the
Underwood man & to Pringle). Sorted all my office
stuff - cleaned out my desk, my closet and my trunks! It took nearly all
day. Then I dressed up and got a nice hot supper for Mother - who went to the Autumn chapter & to Mrs.
Davis's. We played flinch & I
sewed. Kath sick a bed. Had
Dr. Jewett. Better tonight.
Wed 1911
Real cold - busy day.
Claude
gave a dinner to the Reinhardt's. Mother
and I went over to Edna's for fruit
& pickles &c - had a nice call. Lighted the grate when we came
home & I read - up too late of course.
Fri 1912
Nice day. Jim & Roy went out to
Stull's with John.
Claude went to
N.Y.Mother & I went up there to supper.
I had a nice visit. Then went to the
Historical Society Exhibit in Exposition Park
Sat next to Mrs. Buell & Bob
during speeches It was rather tiresome. Claude made them a book plate.
Sat 1913
Rain this morning and grew
very cold toward night. I had a nice luncheon part at Sibley's. Mrs.
Andrews, Edith & Mother. Heard all the latest
Dansville gossips. Went to the Matinee with
Mary "Dicky".
Marlow & F.Lewis in "As You like it" lovely.
Enjoyed it much - in spite of the "hard boiled seats" as the man behind
called them. Letters and early to bed tonight.
Sun 1914
Another lovely day. My good
bed! Ruth Duroe
is back. We went to Claude's to dinner
& had a nice time with them all - about 4
Miss Upton came & we took the boys &
Bess &
Annie
& went for a nice ride in the country. Then Miss U. & I went to Highland Park & a nice supper &
horoscope talk & when the auto came took another hour's ride & then I
wrote &c.
Margueritecalled up.
