33FEBRUARY 2 Wed. 1910.
Beautiful day - sunny mostly
- walked both ways & went to Nan's
this noon & had a fine brushing (next aptmt Mar 4) Had a sandwich at
Sibley's afterward, & tonight
Lura walked down with me to
St. Paul St.
Tonight Father read from "It
never will Happen again" & I sewed - Bed rather early.
Peter got in the "Elevator" again by him - self
- He's fine, but it tipped once & makes him wary,
Gurdon came in this morning.
Thurs. 1911 Candlemas Day & the bear certainly didn't see his shadow.
There was a thunder storm in the night last night
(tho' I didn't hear it) & today it was like
night till afternoon - I never saw so dark a day - we really needed
street lamps & the men couldn't read their papers at noon without lights.
Snowy & blizzardy in the afternoon - A cozy evening & a hot bath
tonight - such a lazy life!
Fri. 1912
Rather uneventful. We
finished "Rebecca"
tonight and now await the next volume.
Walked down with
Marguerite. Cold & blustery night
Sun. 1913 see mem. Real cold again, but bright & sunny. Up late this a.m.
Mrs. Buell took Mother
to church. I planned a flat (!) Minette
came over before our dinner & stayed till six - Part of the time on
Lydia
's bed. She told her troubles.
Had a nice chicken dinner about 4. pm. & a bowl of bread & milk
in the evening. Visited with Lydia
- nice day!
Mon. 1914
Sun for the "Bear's shadow".
Real busy with Nana & Claude - just - home &c.
Henry sprained his wrist badly sliding
down hill yesterday - & a week ago
Chan cut this face doing likewise!
H. had an X-ray taken this p.m. Wrote
after supper & now I read visit write
letters
