4JANUARY 4 Tues. 1910. Got up at 6. Very cold. Fixed furnace & went to creamery (-6°) To Seels to lunch with Lura & then to Hippodrome - saw a play by Rex Beach "partners"! Jim showed me some clever dinner cards - for Student Volunteer dinner. Mis- sionary characatures. Rode up with Amelie - who had invited me for New Years (but I didn't go) She told me about the new house Herma has bought. Read "A certain rich man"
tonight. Father better. Mother tried working in attic - which made me cross! Cold!!
Wed. 1911. Fine winter's day - cold - Went over to Sibley's to lunch & saw Mary
coming out. This p.m. Claude took me & the children & Nanna & the 5 Bacons to the Indoor circus at the Armory. It was fine. Henry sat by me & was adorable - we had a sleigh. Mrs. McLaughlin was here to supper & she & Mother went to church to call Mr. Stone.
Thurs. 1912. Nice busy day. I don't mind being "in harness" again. Tonight Edna, Reba, Marian
& Lois
are over. They are such attractive child- ren. Aunt M. sent me a lovely pieced silk quilt. I wrote 8 letters tonight!
Sat. 1913 Beautiful snow everywhere but cars running. Trudy went home at 11 o'clock. I lunched with Lura - none of her "rabbit party" came - now its Sunday. Kept office this p.m. Frank
was in. Stern told amusing stories about his an auto-experiences in the storm. worked on accounts &c. till very late. Mother has rather a bad cough. CFB in N.Y. today.
Sun. 1914. Staid home all day long & worked on my books a good deal of it. Jo Wilkinson came down from Claude's in the p.m. & we had a nice visit. She looks very well. Ruth Kingsley came back tonight - in a new velvet gown
