MEMORANDA
Sun. Dec. 25 1910 CFB showed Henry a blue print plan of the house and he pointed out
where everything was - even the Christmas tree! Where they slept,
& where different things were - pretty good for four years old! They
were both perfectly charming today.
Sat. Nov. 11 1911-cont'd
It was by
Elizabeth Hollister & Jno.
Warner & really fine. I never saw
such loads of flowers - wagon - loads literally.
The High School were there and got a little speech out of Miss
Hollister but J. Warner
wouldn't even appear. Charlotte Whitney was a star dancer
she & Atkinson Allen did a lovely "love dance".
Gurdon was in it - a "Stroller in to [illegible] - looking fine in regimentals. It was awfully gay
& young & nice.
Miss Lasalle (Betsy) was charming & such gorgeous gowns.
Jan. 1 1913 Bess & Mary were talking about naming their house "Shingle Shanty" or
something of that king. I said "Why don't you give it an English name -
like "Hever Hall" for instance,
& she replied. "That's fine" I have coal and have ashes all the time! "(Mary Belle). In talking about names with
Jim and SternJ. Nov. 23 1913 At the Falls.Henry's eyes shown every minute. They
are both very intelligent. Coming home Henry was comparing our station with the
Buffalo & said "When I spoke of their having a
new one - "well, they won't have such a high room to wait in, will
they?"Chan
draws beautiful pictures I think.
Dec. 31 1914
I want to tell one little
incident.
Florence was up at
Hebbard's this fall & saw the boys carrying
Henrylike a dead soldier &
following with wash boiler & garbage pail cover &c. They buried him
with due honors in the leaves, but he sat up when he was almost buried & cried "Bring my armor with me!"
which they did. Garbage pail cover & all!
