289OCTOBER 7 Fri 1910 Quite cool. Rushed home at noon & called on Edith going back. Lunched at Seel's. Tonight Mother went to Cro'nest to supper. I went to the Hippodrome and then to the Library where I read & looked at Magazines till after nine. Came home & got nice supper by the fire side A frost tonight. Slept in the den. Sat 1911 Dismal morning so Letitia & did not go to the Horse show, as planned. It cleared off by noon but was cold & mudy. Mother went to "Pomander walk" this p.m. I washed dishes - went to Miss Colegroves, wrote &c. Then went down town on various Errands & met Mother at Sibley's for dinner. Had some chat with the Gutman girls and Ada Kent. Claude went to Kate Gleason's's to dine - a most intoxicating moonlight night. I couldn't sleep. Read Mrs. Sprague's "Two Gardens"
& some Stevenson & till 12:30 Mon 1912 Still lovely. CFB in N.Y. I was busy with account &c all day. Stayed down
. Tonight saw Marguerite did dishes, fixed furnace, wrote, did acct &c. Ethel Flack invited me to a corn roast at the Cabin Saturday. up too late, as usual. mem Tues 1913 Lunched with Bess. Mary is in visiting at Sheridan down near Dunkirk for a week. She almost has nervous prostration! Wed 1914 Cloudy. Went down town to the banks & accidentally lunched with Mary D. Jim home sick again. I'm so sorry for him. He given up running the Ford entirely.
