May 21 1910. Bridgeman now gets $18 a week! Hanna $19. Harper 17: Miss Macdonald $600: Miss Bradshaw $10 12: Miss Flack $14: Miss McAffrey $15 18: & MB $22. Industry, length of service, efficiency and c has little to do with salary - otherwise the girls wd. be about this way. Miss Flack $18. Miss Bradshaw $12 Miss McAffrey $8. Miss McD $3! At least I think so. June 20 1911 &c. A little girl about 8 came to St. Luke's picnic at Sea Breeze (all alone) & brought a cake. When our picnic came - with the 54th Regt. band. She went and got her cake from the women & brought it over to our tables & said she wanted to go to a picnic with a band! - Chandler calls "sky rockets" "Ky - rokerds"! He has such dear baby - talk. Oct. 7 1912. Miss Fox's plan & Nana. 5-29-13 & contd. Went to Bess & Mary's to a "party" (The MacArthur's, Edith & Lura) [illegible] Ida Pitler". We were all sleepy but had a very nice time. (Mary said nice things that Ida said later) Goinng home a drunken man spoke to us on the corner. Oct. 23 1914 (Chandler's Poem) I'm on the way to Normanzelle I'm on the way to Normanzelle, forever, and forever. The birds are singing around me The flowers are bending their little stems. I'm on my way to Normanzelle, forever & forever. I see the sta The road is winding on and on, forever! forever. I see the temple of the church. I see the houses too, I'm on my way to Normanzelle, forever, forever.
