350DECEMBER 7 Wed 1910 Got down quite early this a.m. but it was a lazy morning. Mother & I lunched with Bess & Mary at Scrantom's Duffy's. They told about Pearl Crawley's N.Y. & to. Mother went to the Matinee. "Lester Beatrice". Tonight X=stitched & read "The Caravaners". Bed soon after 10. Meta went ski-ing at the bay with Amelie & the Ewers this p.m. Thurs 1911 Much to my constervation I found at Kalb- fleischers this a.m. that the "Oceanic" is in dry dock & won't sail Saturday - after a good deal of consulting & weighing things in decided to go next sat (16th) and have our Christmas later. Say Mother's birth- day). The "let-up" rested me at night. Shopped hard tho' - all noon - a strenuous week. Sat 1912 Up very early & took a bath. Didn't sleep much. Worked this p.m. & shopped later. Henry & Chan are knew about going to N.Y. next week (so Mrs. M. can see them &c.) Chan thinks Aunt Jo's "Christams Revels" may havinge some thing to do with Rebels - and hesitates & Henry says "I'm going to keep close to you Father, New York is such a busy place"! Sun 1913 Lovely day. Long walk out E. Ave. way with Ruth K. this a.m. Cro'nest to dinner. Pictures - to Mrs Ramsdell (where Mrs. Stull mended my new dress) Jim took me home. To Lura's for such a nice visit & supper met Chat & then home & up too late writing &c. Mon 1914 Rather a gray fishing day. Ate alone shopped. Stayed till 5:45. Irenephoned p.m. & eve. She says Florence gives me all the credit for a reconciliation between them (something I said to her on the 'phone Sat. p.m.) Laid awake counting 11, 3, 4, 5 & 7. Thinking of all sorts of things.
