26JANUARY 26 Wed 1910 Nice morning, but about noon it began to rain & was icy - Lillian was very bad yesterday. Had a convulsion & knows she must die - made her will & It is so sad! I lunched at Sibley's again & went to the Hippodrome. Mother went to the "Y" to sew all day. It was pouring rain horrid tonight. Peter and Tinker
had their trials too, Dr. Knight was over this a.m.
Thurs 1911 "Soggy" all day - & real rain some of it. Mother didn't feel ok, and I felt just horrid - eyes - head & teeth all aching. I went up to Cad's to lunch (invited her with me) & had a real nice visit. Frances is better & her mother- in-law is dead. Tonight sewed a little, read a little & now (10) am going to bed in the den for a change. Have been reading Mr. George Jordan's "Self Control"
which Meta lent me. It is simply fine - and my Brother personifies most of these virtues too!
Fri. 1912 Busy picking up loose ends. Claude in N.Y. at Heclas. Jim en- thusiastic about going to Annapolis (where his "Helen" is) on Tuesday. Read tonight. Sun 1913. mem. Claude took the Children to Syracuse (Mrs. Andrews) yesterday and brought them back this a.m. They had a fine time Mother & I went up to dinner & then Nana & they & I took a long walk - conservatories, park. Dr. Thomas - length of Rockingham St. &c. Then a nice evening at home again. Mild as Easter time.
