280SEPTEMBER 28 Wed. 1910 Fine clear day. Worked on Amelie's specifications went to Cro'nest to supper (Mother too) Kath was back & the boys such dears! After dinner & a little chat with K. (who's to make a play out of the hospital) we all, CFB - Mother, the boys, Nanna & I. Went down town to see the perfectly beautiful illuminations for Denver &c Convention & ultimately Industrial Exhibition. Then Claude took me to Shubert's to see a new play "The Deep Purple" - simply fine - wider world & N.Y. Richard Bennet won our hearts as Mr. Lane. Thurs. 1911 A lovely clear day, but cold. Didn't feel very well & worked hard. Tonight went up to dear Claude's to supper - a nice fire on the hearth. Henry was too dear. Claude went off to Boston tonight (& Deerfield &c.) Mother& I went up to Jack Boyce's but didn't stay as they were going out. Had a nice grate fire & read and sewed later. Sat. 1912 The hardest day's work (Except that it was congennial!) I ever did - a 20 page single space carp. spec. from dictation. 8:30 am to about 8 p.m. without lunch or supper. Also some letters & Amelie pleased. Was so tired I cried & was cross when I got home. Bed home. Sun. 1913 A perfectly lovely day. Marguerite came over and I thought we'd go for a walk but we just sat & talked. I went upon the Hill to dinner the last minute and then Henryand I had awalk thro' Highland Park (the back)& down across lots thro' the pretty Asylum woods. A long one but nice I staid home the rest of the day and had a quiet time reading etc. Dr. Ayers brought in a lovely yellow kitten! Felix!! Mon. 1914 Nice day, but cold. Lunched with Bess & Mary and at 4:30 went out and called in Alice Galloway. She told me the Cutlers were really going to sell the business. She's getting fat. In the evening we sat around the grate fire. A cold night
