Mrs. A. went home this morning (with a headache) Edith & I lunched together At Sibley's & I had a very serious talk with her - mostly on her mother's account - about her attitude toward life &c. Afterward she wrote me a nice letter about it. Then we looked at suits &c. and she went home in the p.m. ("Fred
" going to Mt. Morris with her) I bathed and bedded early. tonight - quite used up. Went to dentist a few minutes. Oct. 17. Sat. Still warm & smoky & a strenuous day at the office. Lunched with Lillian Dailey at the Cafeteria this noon & she told me some of her actress ex- periences. Gave J.G. a talking to about Emerich yesterday - which he seemed to take kindly & profit by. Went over to the Industrial Exhibit at 5 & met Flack there & we had a long heart-to-heart talk about life & business &c. "Ciphered" tonight.
