way - down the hill, across the brook & finally insight of the lake. It was wild and beautiful. I wanted to explore it for miles. Finally I walked back - above where I came out picking my hat full of berries to contribute to the general fund. Found the big rock with a table cloth of ferns. The Abbot girls making leaf cups. Bob spreading toast which Chambers McCaffery toasted on a huge toaster of green wood & Miss Barnum turned. Becky Barnum and "Father" fried bacon on rocks at another fire. Russell tended to coffee at a third. Sorrel & some of the others caught brook trout. The Dinsmores (all but Land) made them self numerous and we all looked "busy". I tried to get a picture - but the coffee-pot smoke was in the way. The dinner was delicious - we sat up at the head with the Abbots & Ate many olives. The boys were funny - especially about the cake. Afterwards we packed up & Bob , Mame & I walked to Lewey Bridge - a lovely walk up the road - and there took pictures up (the lonesome inlet) and down (Camp ward) and then walked back again - taking each other. The boat was to go at three (too early) but of course we had to wait for Laird Dinsmore (up the brook fishing.) I wanted to walk back to Farrington's, but nobody else did. We came down
