started off in the merry warm sunshine in a Cadillac with "Mr.
Pratt" as Chauffer. I on the front seat & Eva,Gertude &
Miss Mc. Hugh (of Troy) behind. When
we got French Mt. For a back ground I took our picture. Our
long drive of Sunday was only the first short stage of this and at the
lake we turned west and went past the site of the Old Ft. Wm Henry
hotel burned this spring (I forgot to say, we explored it Sunday p.m.
at dusk - the view is lovely). Then we went up thro' Caldwell
and then west again away from the Lake
road (a lovely one)
"something happened" Which turned out to be a gasoline leak and while
Mr. Pratt
hunted for it &c. we took a little walk up to a watering trough
&c. & back again. He was just ready when we got back and I
snapped the part re-em- barking. I can't begin to describe the delights of
that afternoon - one lovely thing after another. The foliage always
changing & always exquisitely beautiful - even
