bunch of Goldenrod, sticking out into the view. Then we really did some climbing - up stony roads - & curvy ones - easterly toward the lake
- we walked some hills & it was getting dark with (tho' it wasn't late) so I could only take one picture. At about the crest of the hill, where I got out and "ca-dah-ed" to a flock of sheep & snapped them as they came up. Then I got in & said "go on" & roar of laughter greeted me from the back seat - which meant that the whole flock were following the Auto! We soon left them behind & emerged on the Mountain top & came steeply down - with most ravishing views of Lake.
& mountains below and beyond us. We finally emerged (to make a long & delightful story short) in Bolton & struck the state road & simply whirled past entrances of country estates &c. Finally, at Caldwell station, we lit the lamps - and zipped down the Glens Falls boulevard in semi darkness - but got home in time for supper! It seemed perfectly absurd - 61 miles! Eo & Trudy called on Miss McHugh tonight. Frances & I staid home. Mrs. B. went to the hospital where a sick relative have been a day or two.
