9/6/09 Troy
it was late. I read a book of Gertrude Atherton's all day. Had a good lunch &c. but got awfully hot! Reached Albany about 5:30 (instead of 4:25) & Found Eva there to met me - in a great flutter lest she should have missed me. Checked my bag & went up town to see the decorations. & then just caught the 6:06 train (packed!) to Troy. Had supper in the station & walked around there, looking at decorations &c. windmills, ships window exhibits & triumphal arches. Then went to a grandstand (by ticket) & heard a (very nice concert - 1000 voices they said. Got upon the hill Eo's new house, but sat on the piazza half an hour because she'd forgotten her key. Frank, Ruth & Christine
came later - & "Ricky" the dog, was let out & we visited a little before bed. The house is very nice, but it's a pity it isn't a little bit nicer, it might be so easily & the location is fine Oct. 9 Sat. We all hustled out early this a.m. but Frank & I took a little snack before breakfast. I was sorry I didn't photograph house & garden (especially) because there was sun there tho' the valley was full of fog. We got down town (all bundled up - only to be peeled off later) at 8:30. Miss [illegible] - a school teacher friend of Eo's & Mrs. [illegible] - a Mt Holyoke girl - or woman - were in the
