and indulged but will surely marry soon. She says
Chat will marry too - late in life.
Nellie has broken an engagement (true)
& I have had 2 love affairs & been disappointed once (?) If Lura is married or will be, she will survive her
husband! &c. &c. She let us hear each others & ask questions
&c. We saw "the battle of the Merrimac Monitor" in fireworks on
the lake and got home quite late. Had a
good time

"Arrowhead", 4th Lake, Monday with
"Susie" (her sister) & "Jack" (her
Washington
beau) & is quite excited about it. I worked hard as usual - but did accomplish something. It has been very satisfactory
since JW. left for J.G.
lets me do things & I do dread JW's return! This p.m. I was utterly used up &
slept & hour or so. Then sewed a little & got dressed & this eve.
we all went to hear Mrs. Besant talk on
Theosophy - most interesting - sat with
LuraChat & Mrs. Bridges.
