May 26 Tuesday
Began riding "Diana" went to the
Armory tonight with Lura to see
moving pictures, but a shower came up & we had to wait a long
while. hot.
May 27 Wed.
Cooler. I lunch at the Cafeteria
(Wisner Block) now days. Went up to see
Mae & John
Stull tonight - in their new-old house,
which is lovely.
John
actually celebrated with a bottle of champagne!
May 28 Thus.
90° - no 91° today. Lunched with Bess
& Mame at
Cafeteria. Went to "Floradora"
tonight. Too hot & sleepy to enjoy it.
Friday May 29
Hot & cloudy. Came home at noon for a change. Claude went to Buffalo to
see his Hindu - Jinerajadaca
(?) The Buddist.
Nellie Mac, Lura & I went to Webster on the
6 o'clock train. "Walt
" met us with the 2 seater and Lura began to smile (Gottleib
) on the
way down & never stopped once.
"Ma" Wright was as nice as ever and
filled us up with a large supper. Told us stories on the piazza in
the evening and we all slept in the big south room (3 beds!)
May 30 Sat.
Were late and lazy this a.m. (I read in bed awhile) It was hot.
Drove to town in the forenoon with "Walt
& Miss Garabrandt of
Glennings, came in time for dinner. We sat out
doors & talked to them awhile. After a huge dinner Lura & I went upstairs & took our
clothes off & read in bed. Later
