Almost right after dinner we started off in the double carriage with
"Walt
" & had a lovely drive-down (along the Lake road
past the "crazy house" and Dr. Little's cottage & to
the Bacon's in the big woods (lovely) & thro the
beautiful woods & nearly to Forest
Lawn & home by the back road a most delightful trip.
Everything beautiful & such piles of apples at the
driers & in the orchards! We got the six o'clock train home (in pitch
darkness) they drove us to the station. It was a most delightful journey all the
time. Tonight Meta brought her Southern
pictures over to show us.

Horrid & muggy. Regular blue Monday sort of a day.
Tues. Nov. 9Papa sick (he looks bad
lately!) Busy, lunch down. CFB &
Jim making a lovely water color of the
station. Henry sick - went up there tonight
& found him in his early Victorian wrapper, playing with his big engine (which
was to be a Xmas present) He looked sweet & was sweet.
Claude went to N.Y. tonight
- with the big picture.
Nov. 10-11 Wed.-Thurs.
Both very summery days. Father not yet well. Thurs. a.m.
Edith Andrews came. Lunched with me at
Sibley's & came home with me at
night. We tried to go to Cook's but couldn't get a seat, so lay on the
bed & divan in my room & talked till bed time.
Marguerite was over early.
Nov. 12 Fri.
Still fine & warm. Lunched with Edith
&
Bess & Mary joined us at Sibley's & we
had a real nice time. Tonight Edith went out to dinner & to the theatre with Fred
Woodsworth
(they are near a break) & Mother to the
church
