Miss G. did too & Nellie came up while it thundered & rained a little & then we all sat up & played Pedro in our "shimmys". Just got dressed for supper. Spent the evening on the porch again. No phonograph this time and more boarders, including a "nervous" man we haven't seen. May 31 Sund.
Chandler 15:8. (24 wks)
Breakfast at nine (tho' the Glenny - girls tried to get us up sooner) Got acquainted with the school teacher Miss Jebeau - who is pretty - she's from Manersville
, Jeff. Co.
After breakfast (about 11) we walked to the lake! It was fine. Reached there just before a hard shower. Stopped in a sort of pavilion & then got over to the piazza of the ramshackle house - a lovely view, rain, & good singing by a party of young people who were camping down there. We stayed a long time & started for home in the sun again. "Walt
" met us & brought us back in time for chicken dinner (huge, of course) After another "rest" we went to the woods for ferns (& mosquito bites) Had a nice sing & talk on a windy hill in the lane. An early supper & came home on the seven o'clock car - which was just right. The 9 - mile point camping party came too. June 1. Mon Beautiful weather but "blue Monday" all right. Mary Ward here, Mother over doing, Papa cross &c. &c. June 2. Tues. Lovely. Lunched with girls at Cafeteria. Walked up the hill with Helen Davis & had a nice visit.
