came down with us to Monroe & Rutgers &
Kittie Crichton & a friend joined us and
we saw the long parade which was really fine. I felt myself getting cold tho'
thro' the soles of my shoes! Got into the mob ahead of the parade downtown &
walked home from there rather than wait for a very-late car. Illumination
beautiful.
Oct 14. Wed.
Not much business to day. A big industrial parade took up all the
morning - we saw it from the office windows. A crowd were there.
Edith Andrews came just as it was over &
we edged our way down to Duffy's where we
found Mrs. Andrews & Mother & after a long while got a very good dinner &
felt better. We walked over and went thro' the Hotel
Rochester, which they liked very much & then went to Howe
& Rogers to look for rugs. Then E. & I went to Doyle's to buy a waist &
to the Lyceum for tickets and to the
Seneca to telephone "Fred"
to come in & take her to dinner tomorrow. Then home & after dinner
& dressing E.
and Mrs. A. & I went to see Marie
Caheel
in "The Boys & Betty". A clever little play with lots of fun
in it & gorgeous costumes. Afterward Mrs.
Andrews took us into the Seneca where we had supper
fine chicken salad and orange ice &c.
