Dec. 25 Sat. Lovely Sunny Christmas. We were wakened in the night by a telephone announcing a fire next to Doyle's & Fred & Jack went down. Was busy about the house all the morning & Claude, Henry, Chan & Letitia came to din- ner. Later the twins

came over. We had a very nice time & they stayed till after dark, when I put them on the car. The house is so lovely & everyone - children in- cluded - enjoy it so much. This morning went to Rowe's & Meta's, & this evening to Caring's to see Xmas presents. Marguerite came over tonight & we had our first grate fire. The flue works beautifully - I did a puzzle later. The kittens were so cute! Dec. 26 Sun. Lazy morning. We all went up to Cro'nest to dinner & saw the dear babies
with their pretty Christmas things. They have a blackboard with a picture of a school house &c. Henry "is going to take Bessie to school" there - with his new "umbolly" Aunt Maisie gave him. They both had loads of things - so much some will have to be put away. Late I went over to Mac Arthur's to see the new kittens which are very shy & to Rogers with Mary to see Mabel - nice as ever. Went back to supper & got home about nine. Dec. 27 Mon. Busy at office. Anderson

away. Home at noon - we got 22 more Christmas packages & letter today! Fred home sick. Wrote letters tonight.
