Baetzels & Christine Amos, who is just
leaving for England to be married to her sister's husband -
with 3 children! She'll have a hotel up Georgian Bay way yet!
Later Mary D., Marguerite and I went out to the Ball Park
(after the parade) and saw a very funny "Field day" for the benefit of
the Tuberculosis camp. Two funny ball games - parades, clowns.
Jokes on everybody. We had a good time. The "empires body guard" of very tall
& very short men in white swept & "anticepticed" the bases &c.
before the [illegible] came in. The Dr. came in to the dead march
& the lawyers to the rogues march &c. &c. That sort of thing kept
up all the afternoon. When I got home I found that my dearest old Zozie- Kitty was no more. Dear old Mr.
Daunton had taken him away & put him quietly to sleep at 5 o'clock.
He hasn't been really himself all winter, & the last few week, so afraid he hid most of the time - which Father
thought was a sign he was suffering. But he ate well and purred- the old
dear - whenever I touched him & even liked to lie in my lap. We shall all
miss him very much.
June 20 Sun.
Made prints this a.m. Spent the afternoon at
Cro'nest. Minnie &
Millie were out & Jo
& I took care of the children after Father &
