The Cunard dock - the Metropolitan Tower is only up about 20 stories. It's to be 48!) It was a charming ride. At the Pa. Station at Jersey City I had a nice supper and on my train at 8:15 I found Mr. Vincent Alexander(Full of his adventures) Mar. 16. Mon. and (in the morning Mrs. Storr's) - whom I travel with in the Exchange St. car often I rested comfortably in "lower 7" - & when I did wake up the moonlight was gorgeous - especially in the deal Lehigh Valley - or gorge. Got to Rochester at 6:50 and went home to breakfast. Busy at office all day. Telephoned Ida Jonier & Belle Rogers telephoned me. Gilmore is threatening to take Lura's room - which is heart-rending (I told him what I tho't) Figured and read &c. tonight - very tired. Mar. 17. Tues Busy day, Lura and I went to Rogers to dinner tonight. Maywas jolly but looks very bad and her left arm seems quite helpless. The little English children were nice. We had green favors &c. for St. Patrick and Belle & Dolly too were most entertaining telling their English Experiences - Belle's were equal to "Penelope's Progress" - we stayed later than we meant to. Mar. 18. Wed. Blizzardy & horrid - (so different!) Busy and tired. Went to bed early - Thursday Mar. 19. Thurs night went with Mother to "Prof. Napoleon" a local-talent thing - dancing and singing for the benefit of the Orphan Asylum
