preached yesterday) was on the train. I finished "Somehow Good."
There is a fine chapter about the drowning accident - one of the most vivid things I ever read. It was a very oppressive day in the office - especially this p.m. Mother telephoned from D.
that she got left (because of change of time & livery complications) June 30 Tues I went over & sat with Marguerite
& Mrs. Nash a little while (during a thunder storm) and then went to bed at 9:30. Got up and got breakfast this a.m. It is cooler I'm glad to say. Mother got home this a.m. & I went up to see her this noon (after dinner). Tonight went to a fire down on Water St. with Herma & Dolores. Theo was at the factory (to look after it). July 1 Wed. Lunched at Sibley's today with Bob &Mame. Read in bed tonight - after considerable writing. July 2 Thurs. Fine today. 74º. Went to Nan's for my hair brushing this noon. Tonight to Cro'nest - Henny-penny was in bed and Chandler having his bath. He's a dear. "MacClure"
& a bath tonight. July 3 Fri. Cool breeze (but hot sun) Home to lunch & change waist. To Seel's to supper with Ethel Flack & then to the Trolley-station on Exchange St. Met the girls, Bob, Mame, Captain, Myra
, Frances Hutchinson, Carol
&c. (Edith saw us off). We took the 6:30 to Canandaigua and there found a gasoline launch waiting us with "Mr. Foster" to run it. We nearly filled it - 19 of us - and had a sort of a weird hour's ride up to the Vacation House at Parkhurst - or "Foster" Point. Miss Ely
