It hardly seemed a minute before Trudy was back & we hopped right into the carriage, with Miss McHugh (Eo's friend) & Miss Irving (whom Trudy went to N.Y. with) & drove to Sandy Hill via. the other side of the river, a bran new concrete bridge (a long one) & many pictur- esque windings. Then Miss Irving (who lives in Ft. Edward) took the car for home & we drove back that side of the river. Eo was expected about 7, on the trolley Steam cars and we were just dressed & Trudy putting on her hat to go & meet her, when she arrived (by trolley)! After a jolly supper, Miss Lathrop (of Pike) called, & Edith West, charming as ever. Mrs. Bralley gave her doughnuts & &c. &c. Trudy planned & an auto ride tomorrow "Columbus Day" & a holiday. & late tonight it began to pour and Kept it up steadily all night! Oct 12. Tues. It was a gloomy morning, but didn't rain after breakfast, and we went over all thro' Trudy's new school what was interest- ing, and nice and then walked over & called on Mrs. West in her new Colonial home. went all thro' it - even to "Gramma's room" and took a picture of mother and baby Herbert on the upper verandah. Hustled home (via downtown) to an early dinner & before 12:30 & one
