Mrs. Brace talking cats. &c. She has a kitten she wants
to give me - but dear old Zozie seems too precious yet. Was glad
to get Mother home at last. I had phoned
Father when he got home from the Theosophical
society - all were tired

Cool fine weather. Miss McAffrey
is on her vacation at
the Arrowhead, 4th Lake
& must enjoy it. I am nicely busy but dreading JW's return. They're getting along fast adding to the Cutler
BuildingDr. Engert is very very sick & Meta & Amelie so worried
Aug 13. FriLura's birthday - gave her a big ship picture
she liked, framed which pleased her. Marguerite home from
Dansville
with some nice pictures. Wrote to Alice.

Hazy (I wanted to take pictures) Claude &
Letitia took the children down to the
lake "swimming". This p.m. Marguerite &
Mrs. Rowe & I went down & boarded the "Brown" (the only passengers) & went to Brockport by canal.
It was a little warm at first - tho' the sun wasn't very bright - but there was a
nice breeze & we had a fine trip. Lots of motor boats & canal boats to
pass - also a tow & all the stunning barge canal machinery. We went thro'
a new "cut". saw a big dredge &c. At Spencerport we
