broiled steak & we had sweet potatoes &c also good pumpkin pie & coffee. I told the boy's fortunes afterward (Dustin's & Flack's) & with the little I knew about them (& they didn't know I knew) I made a great hit. We came up at 8:20 & really had a fine time. Edgerton was elected mayor again and Alice Helen Gregory in place of Mrs. Montgomery on the Bd. of Ed. Nov. 3-4 Wed. Thurs. The dear Boy's wedding day - & tonight his chimney burned out & he had to get up on top & fight it & almost slipped off the roof & cut his hand & strained his toe &c. & we never knew a word about it till Thursday morning! I was sitting in the Flower Show in Convention Hall

with Lura, thro' it all! I'm so thankful it was no worse. Nana took Hemeny & Chan over to Ramsdell's & told them they were to "see the moon" and Julia handed pails of water out of the upper bathroom window. I went to bed early tonight very tired. Nov. 5. Fri. Fair & cool. Lunched alone today, & shopped. To Cro'nest tonight (all serene again.) They have a new cat called "Kinky" - (to catch mice) Nov. 6. Sat Fine day. Father read aloud tonight. Nov. 7. Sun. Beautiful, sunny cool day. Went to Webster at ten with Mary & Nellie Mac & we walked down to Dewdrop Inn in no time. Ma Wright was glad to see us & desolated because we walked! We did the "back lot" (where we scared up a pheasant) & the far woods before a large chicken dinner. Lots of men there, & the phonograph out of order.
