June 19 Fri. Hot & horrid. Lunched at Cafetaria alone. Miss F awful! Keeps us all cross. After bath & supper Mother & I went over to Prince Street to call on the Wilkinson's just arrived & had a lovely call - on the piazza till a violent thunder storm (a lightning rather) drove us in, then inside. Clummy the cat the center of attraction. Jun 20 Sat. Cool & lovely after the storm. Lunched with Edith at the Samovar & then went down to Seneca Park, where I watched monkeys (one with a looking glass) and bears &c awhile & then went down by the lake to the pony show which absorbed my attention the rest of the afternoon. A cunning little Alice in - wonderland sort of a girl - who got tipped out in the first event - was worth watching all the time on her little black rat of a pony, and the handsomest boy you ever saw on horseback - also many others. I enjoyed it so much. I didn't read my book a bit - but did after supper. Then called on the Carings & Rowes & then "figgered" & wrote. June 21 Sunday
