very much lately nor Letitia either
Henry calls her "Tissue"!) I went to
Rogers' to supper & had such a nice visit with Belle,
Dolly
& May. Belle & I am planning a welcome for Kate Davis I got her quite enthusiastic about
it and she is to speak to the college club. It is very charming mental
experience to sup with that family. I love to hear them talk, too. But they
are human & feminine (as well as "brainy") Showed me their pretty new clothes.
Mar. 1. Mon.
To Meta's tonight. She is just back from
a trip to N.Y. with Amelie (the Knicker- bocker &
Hoffman) & told me a good deal about it. Especially their
Ellis Island ex- perience. She looks much better (Reading, later)
Mar. 2. Tues.
Lunched with Bess & Mame at the office today - delicious fruit salad -
Papa went to "Theosophy"
meeting tonight (It was mild) so didn't read.
Mar. 3. Wed.
Dined at Seel's with Hanna
. Gilmore
& Gordon at another table - & the
Blonde typewriter & Mr. Simmons ( the artist -
Ida Glen's husband) at another! He drew pictures &c! walked
up to Joslyn Park, but Cad Goler wasn't
home.
Mar. 4. Thurs.
Sleet & ice storm last night & everything beautiful here this a.m but
the very worst possible weather for Taft & Sherman's
inauguration, which had to be held inside the Capitol - with no
parade to speak of in the slush (Hughes was one of the heroes of it,
however) It was really too bad!
