but we carefully did reach it. Found Mr. Reed, Mr. & Mrs. Best & little Miss Moore there. The views were not extra bright, nor so pretty as the other day. Reed had a tripod & was waiting for the sun to be right to take a very scientific pictures (he had a little red English book that told how.) After awhile Mr. & Mrs. B.

& Miss Moore departed. I had a long talk with Reed about the Lower St. Lawrence region & a big party arrived from Farrington's. Some of them in gloves. I lent them my glasses to look at boats. Finally they went & Mr. & Mrs. McKown came - & Reed took his pictures & left. Mrs. McKown read us two lovely chapters from "The Forest."

When we finally looked at the time it was 6:10! The McKs disappeared like a flash and Bob strode down the lovely trail we were so auxious she showed 'enjoy' like a railroad train! but we were down before the first supper horn blew and so were saved! Had a long row around Long Island tonight (like the first one) We hated to think it was the last! There wasn't much hymn- singing tonight (but some) & I got sleepy waiting for the moon & finally went up to my tent before the girls. Had no lantern & it was quite thrilling finding the trail
