Dec. 28 Tues. Nice winter's day. Mother & Letitia & the boys
went to Mrs. Hoyt's this p.m. I lunched with Jim at Sibley's & shopped for a suit, but didn't find one - Hippo- drome tonight & read & wrote later. Dec 29 Wed. FBD's birthday! Bought a new black silk dress at Mc Curdy's & lunched very late - alone - at Sibley's. Saw Bess & Mary afterwards, a minute. Dec. 30 Thurs. Dear Mother's birthday - 72! It don't seem possible! Fine cold winter's day. She took me to lunch at Sibley's. We had a very nice "Perfects" party at Mabel's. Matie & all. It was cold tho! Had a nice chicken-salad supper - played cards & Mabel did some new monologues (& old ones) Helen D. talked to me about her Mother & what to do about it, coming home. Dec. 31 Friday Fine weather, Mabel & Lura lunched with me at Sibley's & we had a fine time. Planned a N.Y. "Perfects" Trip this Spring &c. &c. &c. The room was full of "Student Volunteers" (a convention here) We had a good dinner too - wrote tonight and went to bed just as the whistles were blowing. The Old Year Out. in my nice new room at "No.22"
