That was closed, but we looked in the windows & saw how it was & then sat a long time in an open summer - house, and I took Mr. & Mrs. B's picture sitting under the birches an the shore (just beyond) their 24th wedding anniversary. The coloring on the lake & the dark shadowy mountains was most beautiful. We had a nice drive home, too, but the very last of it in the dark. After supper we had callers and Frances played piano &c. Trudy's friend Mrs. Murray called to ask me to drive tomorrow morning. Oct. 11 Mon. Cloudy in the morning, but then bright & nice I took Francis' picture before she went to school, and Donald's with his pet "bun- nie" - a Chris birthday present in August. Trudy went off to school & about 9 o'clock Mrs. Murray came with a stunning span of gray horses & a nice carriage & Mrs. Braley
