11/9/07 "The man of the Hour" (Orrin Johnson)
The streets certainly looked like Election night. The Crowds were awful in front of the bulletins, where they had moving pictures. Nov. 6 Wed. A very rainy day. The Governor
came thro on his way to Sonyea, where J.G. & J.W. were going to take the party in Autos if it hadn't rained Ethel Flack & I lunched at Sibley's and I bought a pretty blue & green tailored suit. Alice Bradshaw went to Mc Curdy's with me tonight for a "pin-fitting". Played flinch with Mother - to bed early. Nov. 7. Thurs. Snow this morning. Another horrid rainy day. Reg & Ethel Flack came up tonight & read hand-writing. It's a late start. Bed rather late. Nov 8. Fri. Cool - no rain! Read characters my- self tonight till 11:30. Lunched with Nov. 9. Sat Father at Sibley's. Pleasant Saturday. Two big high school foot-ball games (Gilmore & Harper
went) The streets full of people. Cars stalled 1 1/2 hrs! "Did" the stores with Alice Bradshaw - Went to "The Man of the Hour" Gallery! It was good tho' I was good & tired. Nov. 10. Sun. A dark day. Rain this p.m. Cleaned out bureau drawers. Char invited us to Thanksgiving dinner. Had quite a long visit at Behn's with Meta, Theo. & Frieda to Davis's this p.m. I followed Chat down to Lura's where we had a "bunny"
& a nice visit together.
